About

Our Story

Hi! We’re Art Teacher Fusion!

We are two BEST FRIENDS who met many years ago, in the Art Education program during College! We were immediately inseparable from each other the moment we met, and years later, were blessed with the opportunity to teach ART at the same high school! It’s been a dream working together, while experiencing the highs and lows of teaching and creating.

We each have over 15 years experience teaching ART to students from Kindergarten through 12th grade, and have truly enjoyed every moment of it. Throughout these many years, we have put in countless hours collaborating, researching, creating and exploring both ART and EDUCATIONAL strategies for our classrooms. Through our blood, sweat and tears we have created a strong and successful curriculum for our students and are excited to share that with other art teachers! That’s why we created ART TEACHER FUSION, to “fuse” our ideas and hard work into usable resources that can be accessed by other Art teachers.

We know how hard it is to use your personal time creating content and curriculum for your classes, especially when you’ve been given a classroom without many resources or any support AND on top of that, you still have a life and family outside the working hours of a school! It can be overwhelming trying to balance your time between work and life while attempting to create engaging content, master classroom management strategies, develop confident, successful student artists and jump through the many hoops your school leaders demand of you. Therefore, we hope that our resources, units and lessons help lessen the burden that teaching can sometimes be and provide an opportunity of support in your classroom. We are happy to share our many years of experience with you and hope that you find as much JOY and SUCCESS in teaching art, as we have together!!!

Mrs. Andrade’s Story…

Art Educator

I knew at a young age that I wanted a career in the arts. It wasn’t until after high school that I decided to pursue art education as a way of balancing a career and home life (what beats summers & weekends off with a family?!) and I couldn’t be happier with my decision! I have been teaching art since the age of 23, when I was given my very first classroom teaching Art to K-8th grade students at a small private school in Huntington beach, CA. After 7 years there, I moved up to the High School level and found my true calling. I currently teach Art 1, Art 2, and all 3 portfolios in AP Art and Design in southern California. Teaching art to high school students has been so incredibly rewarding, and I look forward to coming to work each and every day.

Other important aspects of my life include my faith and family. I am a Christian and know that “Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father ”- James 1:17. I am so thankful for the hope I have in Christ and grateful for his grace and the gifts he has given me to lead a meaningful and purposeful life. One of the many gifts he has given me, and my most cherished, is my family. I have been married to my husband and best friend for over 15 years now and we have 4 beautiful children together between the ages of 11 and 3 years old. It’s been a true blessing to be able to experience being a mom and wife while balancing my work in the classroom, which has become such a huge part of my life. Education has given me the best of both worlds, and I am so grateful to be on this journey.

Mrs. Roth’s Story…

Art Educator

From a young age, I’ve been drawn to creativity, nurtured by the unique perspective I gained growing up alongside three sisters. As a visual learner and natural problem solver, I found joy in crafting and designing. It wasn’t until college that I discovered Art Education, a revelation that set the course for my career path.

Since the age of 23, I’ve dedicated myself to teaching in Redondo Beach, CA, where I’ve had the privilege of instructing a diverse range of courses including Art 1-3, AP Art & Design: 2D Art & Design, Drawing, and 3D Art & Design, extending even to a continuation school. Fueled by my passion for art education, I pursued a Master’s degree in the field, deepening my understanding and commitment to nurturing artistic talent.

Collaborating with my lifelong friend, Michele, and witnessing students who once doubted their artistic abilities flourish has been the most rewarding aspect of my teaching journey. I envisioned retiring from this fulfilling profession until life’s twists led me to Louisiana, following my husband’s career relocation.

Though leaving my teaching position was bittersweet, I embraced the opportunity for new horizons with a blend of trepidation and excitement. With this fresh chapter unfolding, I’ve embarked on the creation of Art Teacher Fusion resources and exciting new plans for its future endeavors. Despite the shifts, my commitment to art education perseveres, motivating me to sustain the cultivation of creativity and serve as an inspiration for aspiring art education.
